Vida Elementary School Chijulhá grade four

Your class is learning a lot this year! In Grade 4, the students are learning to recognize their gifts, talents and abilities and to use them for the benefit of others, and to use biblical principles to address conflicts. They continue to learn that God created them and loves them. They are working on their reading comprehension and writing paragraphs with coherence and structure. They are continuing to work on problem solving in math, and recognizing ordinal, Mayan, and Roman numerals. They are learning about national authorities and their roles in the community. They are learning about the senses and their functions, as well as the major organs of the human body, and how to classify living creatures based on common characteristics. They’re continuing to learn to follow instructions and take care of their classroom.

Vida Elementary School Chijulhá

The Agua de Vida Chijulhá campus is located in the community of Chijulhá, Alta Verapaz, Guatemala and hosts two school programs: an elementary school (opened in 2018) and a junior high school (opened in 2023). This class is part of the Agua de Vida Chijulhá Elementary School which serves over 150 students from Pre-kinder to Grade 7 from five surrounding communities. Many homes that our students come from have only one parent present, and it is not unheard of to have siblings on their own for extended periods of time. It’s very difficult for families to find food to eat each day. At the Vida School the children are given a daily meal and are provided with resources and support which otherwise would prevent them from attending. Children at Agua de Vida Chijulhá Elementary School are receiving an academic education and lives are being changed as students learn to seek God and bring His love home to their families. Our hope is that they will grow into godly leaders who will serve the Lord and impact their community.
