Vida Elementary School Chijulhá grade one
Your class is learning a lot this year! In Grade 1, the students are learning to express worship and praise to the Lord voluntarily in their devotions, demonstrating gratitude through their attitudes. They are learning to recognize the Lord as their creator, and they exhibit a keen interest in discovering and developing the gifts bestowed upon them by God. They are learning that obedience is reflected in their positive behavior both within and outside the school, and they are learning compassion and repentance in the face of mistakes. In Grade 1, the students are exploring the initial stages of literacy and mathematical operations. They are learning to recognize and write numbers from 1 to 100, identify and trace alphabet letters, and understand consonant and vowel combinations. They are continuing to learn aspects of personal care and hygiene
Vida Elementary School Chijulhá
The Agua de Vida Chijulhá campus is located in the community of Chijulhá, Alta Verapaz, Guatemala and hosts two school programs: an elementary school (opened in 2018) and a junior high school (opened in 2023). This class is part of the Agua de Vida Chijulhá Elementary School which serves over 150 students from Pre-kinder to Grade 7 from five surrounding communities. Many homes that our students come from have only one parent present, and it is not unheard of to have siblings on their own for extended periods of time. It’s very difficult for families to find food to eat each day. At the Vida School the children are given a daily meal and are provided with resources and support which otherwise would prevent them from attending. Children at Agua de Vida Chijulhá Elementary School are receiving an academic education and lives are being changed as students learn to seek God and bring His love home to their families. Our hope is that they will grow into godly leaders who will serve the Lord and impact their community.
